Priorities:

Responsible Spending

It should be every elected officials goal to maximize organizational efficiency and be good stewards with taxpayer money. Over the last few years Bedford has finally taken control of its finances and the residents have seen their tax rate decrease to the lowest point in seven years without an impact to city services. Putting a CFO in charge of our finances has lead to better budgeting and smarter investments for our city.

Accomplishments

  • Reduced expenditures by over 5 million dollars which has resulted in the lowering the tax rate to its lowest point in over seven years.

  • Refinanced city debt in 2021 taking advantage of low interest rates and saving the city millions.

  • Maximized revenue through CD’s and securities capitalizing on the federal government’s incremental interest rate hikes.

  • Streamlined organization efficiency in the last two years by removing redundancies

  • Upgraded our credit rating to AA+ which strengthens the city’s borrowing power and ability to take advantage of the lowest interest rates possible.
